West Shore SERTOMA

The West Shore Sertoma Club is committed to providing four students at any one time (one student per academic year) a $1,000 per year scholarship, renewable for four years.

Deadlines:

All scholarship applications and requested materials must be received by April 1 each year. 

Qualifications:

- Must be a student in the following high schools:  Cedar Cliff; RedLand; Trinity; Camp Hill;Cumberland Valley; East Pennsboro; Mechanicsburg; and Northern York.

- Must be either entering college as a freshman on a full time basis or currently attending college on a full time basis at a college or university in theUnited States of America.

- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a speech and hearing field of study.

-Must have a minimum 3.2 on a 4.0 scale unweighted GPA or at least 85% in all courses.  For high school students entering college, this is a cumulative GPA for grades 9 – 11 and first semester of 12^th grade.  For students currently at a freshman level in college, it is cumulative GPA for grades 9-12 and first semester of college.  For college students who are sophomores or higher, it is your college transcript for all semesters completed.

- Must submit application and all required materials in single envelope by deadline date.

Notification to Recipients:

All scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of June each year.  We only notify recipients who will be receiving a scholarship.

 Required Materials:

The following items are required to complete the application process.  These items must be submitted in a single envelope in the order listed.

-  Application provided in this brochure must be on the original form and signed.

-  Statement of purpose stating how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals: one page maximum, typed.

-  Two letters of recommendation from a teacher or school official.

-  High school or college transcript.  Transcript must be an official school transcript.  GPA must be verifiable from transcript.  Transcripts must have school name printed on it.
